I’m Ahmed – Speaker, Consultant, Entrepreneur, Academic, and & Digital Innovator and Leader

Ahmed is a natural leader who has been involved in the formation of several pioneering internet and telecom industry platforms in South Africa. As the Co-Chairman of the MMA (Mobile Marketing Association South Africa), Ahmed developed the structures and founding work plan to create a sustainable mobile marketing industry in SA. He was also the founder of Mobile Monday South Africa which was established to drive collaboration, networking & innovation in the mobile industry and served as the founding Chairman of the Vodacom WASP Council which he jointly developed and managed with the industry to serve as an executive level collaboration structure between Vodacom and the WASP Industry. He has also been involved in several entrepreneur and youth development programmes, has consulted the use of ICT for development (ICT4D) for NPO’s with the Parliament of South Africa and other regulatory bodies including USAASA, ICASA, DOC, DTI, ISPA, WAPA. He has also consulted on technology marketing to ICT companies on their go-to-market strategies. and has lectured on management, and internet and digital marketing on various postgraduate courses.

He is currently studying towards a PhD in Information Management with his research focus being online information pollution, information manipulation, and weaponisation of social and online medias.

His past academic achievements include a Masters in Digital Business (cum laude) from WITS Business School (Class of 2021), as well as an Executive MBA from UCT’s Graduate School of Business (Class of 2014). He is a certified Chartered Marketer (CMSA) at The Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA), and has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Knowledge and Information Systems Management (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University (Class of 2018).
